Safety, disclaimer & affiliate disclosure
Short and in plain English.
The product label comes first
Fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides can harm people, pets, wildlife, and waterways if they're misused. The label on the product you buy is the legal instruction for using it, and it overrides anything on this site. Before applying anything:
- Confirm the label lists St. Augustine as a safe grass.
- Use the label's rate, timing, temperature limits, and protective equipment.
- Keep children and pets off treated areas for as long as the label says.
- Keep granules and spray off driveways, sidewalks, and streets, and away from storm drains and water.
- Store and dispose of products as the label directs.
General information, not a guarantee
Turf Method shares general lawn-care information for St. Augustine lawns. Every yard is different: soil, shade, drainage, grass variety, weather, and local pests all change how advice applies. Results aren't guaranteed. For a serious problem or a diagnosis you're unsure about, contact your county extension office or a licensed lawn-care professional.
Timing on this site reflects typical Gulf Coast conditions. Adjust for your area and for each year's weather, and follow any local watering restrictions or rules about applying lawn products.
Affiliate disclosure
Some links on Turf Method may be affiliate links, including links to Amazon. If you buy through one, Turf Method may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. That never changes what we recommend: we only list products used in the Turf Method program or that we'd use on our own lawn, and we mark reviews that are still in progress.
Affiliate programs may use cookies to track referrals. See our privacy policy for details.
